Overview

According to the Pentecostal Assemblies of God-Kenya Constitution (2024), the Board of Trustees is a critical body responsible for the legal ownership and management of the church's physical and financial assets.

1. Purpose and Authority

The primary role of the Trustees is to facilitate the church's objective of acquiring, owning, and developing real estate.

i. Property Ownership: All church buildings, whether owned, leased, or rented, are held in the name of the registered Trustees of PAG-Kenya.

ii. Legal Representation: Registered Trustees act as the legal entity through which self-governing assemblies purchase or acquire real estate.

iii. Land Transactions: They have the authority to deal with church land—including selling, transferring, mortgaging, or leasing it—as directed by the Executive Committee to further the church's interests.

2. Operational Integration

The Board of Trustees works closely with other church organs to manage property across different levels:

i. Liaison with Districts: The Trustees coordinate with District Committees to assist in the acquisition of new church plots.

ii. Executive Supervision: The Executive Committee is responsible for ensuring that all church properties are correctly titled and managed in the name of the registered Trustees.

iii. Assembly Coordination: Local assemblies have the right to acquire property, but such acquisitions must be processed through the registered Trustees to maintain constitutional compliance.

3. Key Responsibilities

i. Asset Holding: Holding freehold or leasehold properties within and outside of Kenya to promote the church's aims.

ii. Financial Integrity: Professional management of church funds and investments in a manner that aligns with the church's goals.

iii. Legal Compliance: Ensuring all property dealings comply with the laws of Kenya and the specific articles of the PAG-Kenya Constitution.
